Flowers
The main parts of a flower are the root, stem, leaf, petals and centre. Petals usually sit in a circle. To make a paper flower we fold a circle and cut petal shapes. To make the flower stand up, we strengthen its stem by folding a strip of green paper. We pay attention to repeating shapes and matching colours.
You need: coloured paper, scissors, glue, green paper, card, thread. Steps: 1) Fold a pink circle in half three times and cut the outer edge in a curve: when you open it there are 8 petals. 2) Open it and glue a yellow circle in the middle. 3) Fold a green strip lengthwise three times to make a stem. 4) Glue the flower and two leaves to the stem, and tie three flowers with thread to make a bouquet. Safety: when cutting curves, turn the paper, not the scissors, and keep your fingers behind the blades.
