The human body
The human body consists of the head, the trunk, the arms and the legs. The head has the eyes, ears, nose, mouth, cheeks and forehead; the arm has the shoulder, elbow, forearm, palm and fingers; the leg has the thigh, knee, shin, ankle, heel and foot. The outside of the body is covered with skin. Skin protects the internal organs from knocks, burns and germs, senses heat and cold, and cools the body with sweat. In the sun the skin darkens because more protective melanin forms. The internal organs are hidden inside the body: the heart, lungs, stomach, intestines, liver, kidneys and brain. Each organ has its own job. To stay healthy we keep a daily routine, eat well, move, get enough sleep, spend time in fresh air and follow hygiene rules.
Game “Body parts”: groups of three. One points to a part, one names it, one times 1 minute. Who named most? Then draw the internal organs (heart, lungs, stomach) on a body outline.
