Explanation
Helping someone is doing something useful for others. If we help each other, work is done fast and there is time left to play with friends. When someone helps us, we always say thank you. Showing gratitude lifts the mood of both people. There is a saying: “Those who unite get ahead; those who don’t fall apart.”
Worked examples
“The heavy box”. At break Nigora was carrying a big box of books to the classroom. The box was heavy and she walked slowly. Behruz ran up and said: “Let’s carry it together.” The two of them quickly brought the box into the classroom. Nigora said: “Thank you so much!” Behruz smiled: “You’re welcome.”
Class activity
“Thank-you box”: each child writes the name of someone who recently helped them and drops it in a box; the teacher reads a few aloud.
