GoalKnow the traffic light colours and the main road signs.
New words
traffic light · svetoforpedestrian · piyodaroad sign · yo‘l belgisizebra crossing · zebra
Explanation

The traffic light controls traffic. On the drivers’ light, red means stop, yellow means get ready, green means go. On the pedestrians’ light, red means wait, green means cross. If there is no traffic light, we cross where there is a “Pedestrian crossing” sign and zebra stripes.

Worked examples
“Red light”. Aziza and her brother stood at the roadside. The red light was on and there were no cars. Aziza said: “Shall we cross now?” Her brother said: “No, we wait for green. The rule is the same for everyone.” When the green light came on, they looked left and right and crossed.
Class activity

“Living traffic light”: the teacher shows red, yellow and green cards; children stop, get ready or walk accordingly.
