Textbook pp. 62–65
GoalKnow what truthfulness and honesty are and listen to the voice of conscience.
New words
truthfulness · rostgo‘ylikhonesty · halollikconscience · vijdonlie · yolg‘on
Explanation
Truthfulness means always telling the truth and keeping promises. A truthful person’s words and heart are the same. Honesty means not taking what belongs to someone else and admitting a mistake when we are wrong. Conscience is an inner voice that tells us what is good and bad. There is a saying: “A lie has a short life.” Sometimes the truth is hard to say; it takes courage.
Worked examples
“Found money”. Sanjar found some money in the school corridor. He thought: “I need it,” but his conscience said “It belongs to someone.” Sanjar handed the money to the teacher. Next day a little girl was very happy to get her money back. Sanjar felt light inside.
Class activity
“Truth or lie?”: the teacher reads a situation; children go to the “truth path” or “lie path” corner and give a reason.
