New words
friend · do‘stclassmate · sinfdoshclub, after-school group · to‘garakinterest · qiziqish
Explanation
School is our second home. Here we find new friends, especially in subject and sport clubs with children who have similar interests. When choosing a friend we look at who they are and what they do. A good friend encourages us to do good, not bad.
Worked examples
“A new friend”. A new boy, Karim, came to the class. He sat alone at break. Nodira went to him and asked: “I’m Nodira. Do you play chess?” Karim smiled. Now they play together every break.
Class activity
“Interview”: pairs act as journalist and friend, ask each other’s name, favourite activity and food, then introduce each other to the class.
