Explanation
A zoo is an open-air museum. Comfortable conditions are created here for animals, and people see them up close and learn. In a zoo we don’t make noise, don’t annoy animals and don’t feed them ourselves, because it may harm them. Animals in danger of disappearing are entered in the “Red Book”. Protecting them is everyone’s job.
Worked examples
“At the zoo”. Sevinch went to the zoo with her class. Some children shouted by the elephant enclosure. Sevinch said: “Let’s not make noise, the animals get scared.” Then she asked the teacher about elephants and wrote down a few interesting facts.
Class activity
“Zoo rules”: groups draw a sign-poster for the entrance with 3 rules.
