Explanation
Public places are places meant for many people: a park, library, shop, transport, hospital. Everyone is together in these places, so we follow the rules. We wait in a queue, don’t talk loudly, throw rubbish in the bin, and take care of plants and equipment. If someone asks for help we help.
Worked examples
“In the library”. Zarina came to the library to borrow a book. At the entrance she said “Assalomu alaykum” and spoke softly. She waited her turn and gave her card to the librarian. On leaving she put the book carefully in her bag.
Class activity
“In a public place”: children role-play a park, shop and library, showing the right manners in each.
