Explanation
At school we learn reading, writing and counting, and also many other subjects. Scientists study nature and the world: astronomers study stars, biologists study living nature, geographers study the Earth. Knowledge helps us tell right from wrong and solve problems. Even the phone and the airplane were made thanks to knowledge.
Worked examples
“Why does it rain?”. Laylo looked at the rain from the window. She asked her mother: “What are clouds made of?” Mother said: “You will learn it in the nature lesson at school.” Next day Laylo asked her teacher and got an interesting answer.
Class activity
“Who is this scientist?”: the teacher describes a job (“watches the stars”) and children guess the scientist (astronomer).
