GoalReview Unit 7 “Energy”: energy, electric current, conductors, power stations and temperature.
New words
energy · energiyaelectron · elektronconductor · o‘tkazgichtemperature · harorat
Explanation
Energy makes it possible to do work or move objects. It does not vanish: it can only be stored or passed from one object to another. Electric current is a flow of tiny particles called electrons. Metals conduct current well. Electricity is produced at different kinds of power stations. Temperature is a quantity showing how hot or cold an object is.
Worked examples
Sun’s energy → solar panel → electricity → bulb → light.
Burning coal gives heat, which turns water to steam.
Class activity
Mini-project “Energy chain”: on cards write energy source, device and result: “Wind → turbine → generator → electricity → lamp → light”. Groups arrange chains in order and explain what changes into what. The longest correct chain wins.
Practice
1
What is the most important rule about energy?
energy does not vanish, it only changes form or passes on
2
Name 2 materials that conduct current well.
For example: copper, iron, aluminium
3
What is a healthy human body temperature?
about 36.6 °C
