Words for colour, taste and size

Explanation

Describing words tell a thing’s colour (qizil — red, yashil — green, ko‘k — blue, sariq — yellow), taste (shirin — sweet, nordon — sour, achchiq — bitter, sho‘r — salty), size (katta — big, kichik — small, uzun — long) and character (mehribon — kind, aqlli — clever, chaqqon — quick).

Worked examples
colour: yashil barg (green leaf); taste: nordon olcha (sour cherry); size: katta tarvuz (big watermelon)
character: mehribon buvi (kind grandma), mehnatkash chumoli (hard-working ant)
Class activity

“Colour and taste market”: fruit pictures lie on a table. A child picks one and says its colour, taste and size: “This lemon is yellow, sour, small.”
