Explanation

A word is the smallest unit of speech we use to name or show something. Every word has a meaning. Words name a thing (olma — apple), its feature (qizil — red) and its action (pishdi — ripened). Words can show a person, thing, action, feature, number or amount.

Worked examples
name: mushuk (cat); feature: oppoq (snow-white); action: o‘ynayapti (is playing)
name: quyosh (sun); feature: issiq (hot); action: chiqdi (came up)
Class activity

The teacher shows an object (a ball). Children say its name, its features (katta — big, qizil — red) and its actions (sakraydi — bounces, dumalaydi — rolls).
