Capital letters for names and surnames

Explanation

People’s first names and surnames always start with a capital letter, at the start or in the middle of a sentence: Bugun Madina va Sardor navbatchi. (Today Madina and Sardor are on duty.) The patronymic comes from the father’s name: Akmal Rustam o‘g‘li (son of Rustam), Aziza Rustam qizi (daughter of Rustam).

Worked examples
Mening ismim Jasur. Familiyam Karimov. (My name is Jasur. My surname is Karimov.)
Tanaffusda Ali, Vali va Omina o‘ynashdi. (Ali, Vali and Omina played at break.)
Class activity

Each child writes their name on a card with a big capital letter and colours the capital. The cards go on an “Our class” wall.
