Finding action words
Textbook Part 2, pp. 54–55
GoalFind action words in sentences and texts, and guess who or what does an action.
New words
to bark · vovullamoqto meow · miyovlamoqto sing (of birds) · sayramoqto crow, to shout · qichqirmoq
Explanation
Each animal and thing has its own action: it vovullaydi (the dog barks), mushuk miyovlaydi (the cat meows), qo‘y ma’raydi (the sheep bleats), xo‘roz qichqiradi (the rooster crows), bulbul sayraydi (the nightingale sings). From the action word we can guess who or what it is: vizillaydi (buzzes) — a bee; gumburlaydi (rumbles) — thunder.
Worked examples
