Explanation
Remember: person words answer Kim? Kimlar?; thing words (animals too) answer Nima? Nimalar? The ending -lar means “many”. By asking a question we find out what kind of word it is.
Worked examples
Kim?: do‘st (friend), kulol (potter), opa (older sister)
Nimalar?: qushlar (birds), yulduzlar (stars), daraxtlar (trees)
Class activity
“Question chain”: one child says a word, the next asks its question and says the plural, the third says a new word.
