Explanation

The name of one thing answers Nima? (What?): kitob (book). The name of more than one thing answers Nimalar? (What — many?): kitoblar (books). The ending -lar means “many”: qalam — qalamlar (pencils), stol — stollar (tables).

Class activity

“One — many”: when the teacher shows one object, children say its name; when she shows many, they add -lar and open their arms wide.
