Consolidation
Textbook: p. 132
ЦельConsolidate the noun topic: kinds, suffixes and spelling.
A noun answers kim? nima? qayer?. By structure it can be simple, compound, paired or repeated; it is proper or common. By meaning we distinguish person, thing, place and activity nouns, and concrete and abstract nouns. Person nouns are formed with -chi, -kor, -dosh, -xon, -(u)vchi; thing nouns with -gich, -ma, -don; place nouns with -zor, -xona, -iston, -goh; abstract nouns with -lik, -ch, -inch. The plural uses -lar, the diminutive -cha, -choq, the endearment -gina, -jon. Proper nouns are capitalized; nationality names are lowercase.

Why is it useful to group nouns by meaning?
Because suffixes and spelling rules depend on the group: e.g. person nouns take -chi, place nouns -zor.
