Hans Christian Andersen (1805–1875) was a great Danish storyteller, the author of tales such as «Thumbelina» and «The Ugly Duckling». In «Дюймовочка» a tiny girl born in a flower meets many adventures. A toad, a May beetle, a field mouse and a mole each want to pull her their own way, but she seeks freedom and kindness. A swallow becomes her friend and carries her to a warm land. There she meets the king of the flower elves. The tale is about kindness, friendship and finding your own way.
