«Кружечка под ёлочкой» (a short retelling). «Мальчик поймал рыбок и оставил их в кружечке под ёлочкой. Утёнок нашёл кружечку и схватил рыбку. Но мальчик закричал, утёнок ответил „Кря!“ и уронил рыбку. Второй раз утёнок снова открыл клюв, и рыбка упала в воду. Третью, крошечную рыбку он нечаянно проглотил. Маме утёнок ничего не показал.» (The boy caught some little fish and left them in a mug under a fir tree. A duckling found the mug and grabbed a fish. But the boy shouted, the duckling answered “Quack!” and dropped the fish. The second time the duckling opened his beak again, and the fish fell into the water. The third, tiny fish he swallowed by accident. The duckling had nothing to show his mother.)
