Spelling of stems and suffixes (continued)
Textbook: p. 101
ЦельContinue the rules on spelling of stems and suffixes (-boz, added y, -di/-da/-dan).
Новые слова
care, concern · parvoprestige · obro‘topic · mavzutrickster · hiylaboz
Объяснение
Some suffixes are written in the same form whatever their pronunciation. For example, the suffix -boz sounds like -voz in speech, but -boz is written: hiylaboz (trickster). When a possessive suffix is added to a few words ending in a vowel, such as parvo, obro‘, mavqe, mavzu, avzo, a y sound appears between them and is written: obro‘yim, mavqeyi. The suffixes -da, -dan, -di sound like -ta, -tan, -ti after an unvoiced consonant, yet in writing they do not change: tikdi, ishda, qushdan.
Примеры
Mavzu + -im = mavzuyim; obro‘ + -si = obro‘yi.
Qush + -dan = qushdan, even if heard «qushtan».
Работа в классе
