Learner’s Book 1: Unit 9, p. 122
GoalSay, read and write the number words from eleven to twenty.
New words
number word · a number written in lettersteen · sounds like tentwenty · the word for 20
Explanation

Every number has a name that we can write in letters. 11 is eleven and 12 is twelve. Then the names end with teen, which sounds like ten. 13 is thirteen, 14 is fourteen and 15 is fifteen. Thirteen starts like three, but we say ‘thir’. After nineteen, 20 is twenty. Say each number out loud and then write its word. Look carefully at the letters.
