Words for length

Learner’s Book 1: Unit 4, pp. 56–57
GoalUse the words long, short and tall to describe things, and say that length is how far it is from one end to the other.
New words
length · how far it is from one end to the otherlong · a big lengthshort · a small lengthtall · a big length from bottom to top
Explanation

Length tells us how far something is from one end to the other. We can find out how long a scarf is. We can find out how tall a door is. We can also find out how far it is from home to school. A scarf is long and a key is short. A lamp post is tall and a cat is short. Look carefully, then choose the best word.
