There’s a couch in the bathroom

Student’s Book pp. 50
GoalSay where something is with “There’s a … in the …”.
New words
there’s a … · … borin · ichidabathroom · hammombedroom · yotoqxona
Explanation

We say something is somewhere with “There’s a lamp in the bedroom.” “There’s” is short for “there is” and is for one thing. Before a room we say “in the”: in the kitchen, in the bathroom. A silly sentence can be fun too: “There’s a couch in the bathroom!”

Worked examples
There’s a table in the kitchen.
There’s a TV in the living room. There’s a mirror in the bathroom.
Class activity

“Silly room”: the teacher shows a mixed-up picture (a couch in the bathroom). Children laugh and say “There’s a couch in the bathroom!” then name the right room.
