Explanation

In the book’s story the children cross the street carefully at the traffic light. The value: before crossing, we stop, look both ways and wait for the green light. Phrase: “Stop, look and listen.”

Worked examples
“At the road”. Aziza and her little brother Ali are going home from school. The traffic light is red. “Stop!” says Aziza. Ali holds her hand. They look left, then right. The cars go by. The light turns green. “It’s safe now. Let’s cross!” says Aziza. They cross carefully.
Class activity

“Traffic light”: a child is the traffic light (red/green paper). On red everybody says “Stop!” and stands still; on green they say “Let’s cross!” and walk.
