Clothes

Student’s Book pp. 38–39
GoalName 9 items of clothing in English.
New words
dress · ko‘ylak (qizlar)jacket · kurtkapants · shimsocks · paypoq
Explanation

Clothes: dress, jacket, jeans, shirt, shoes, skirt, socks, pants, T-shirt. Jeans, pants, shoes and socks come in pairs, so we always use the plural: “blue jeans”, “red socks”. We don’t put “a” before them.

Worked examples
A red dress, a green jacket and blue jeans!
Mini chant: “Socks and shoes, jeans and shirt — put them on, let’s go to school!”
Class activity

“Clothes workshop”: children cut out paper clothes, color them, and show a friend: “It’s a yellow T-shirt.” or “They’re green socks.”
