Explanation

In the book’s story Ben invites his friends to the tree house and they all play together. Look at the pictures first, then ask “Who? What happened?” The value: playing together is better than playing alone. Useful phrase: “Let’s play!”

Worked examples
“Play together”. Aziza is playing with a new ball in the park. Her friend Sardor is sitting alone. Aziza sees him and says “Let’s play!” Sardor smiles and takes the ball. They run together. Then two more children come and join. “Wow, four friends!” says Aziza. Everybody is happy.
Class activity

“Let’s play together”: children pass a ball in the middle of the class. The one who catches it says a friend’s name and “Let’s play, …!” and invites that friend into the circle.
