CLIL: what do animals need?

Explanation

Animals need three things: water, food and shelter. A shelter is a place that protects from rain and cold: a kennel for a dog, a nest for a bird. Sentences: “Animals need water.” “My cat needs food.” With one animal we say “needs”, with many we say “need”.

Worked examples
A dog needs water. A dog needs food. A dog needs shelter.
Birds need shelter. A nest is a shelter.
Class activity

“A home for a pet”: children draw a home for a pet with a water bowl, food and a shelter. Then say “My cat needs water, food and shelter.”
