It’s beautiful

Student’s Book pp. 28
GoalDescribe a thing or animal with “It’s …” (adjectives).
New words
beautiful · chiroylibig · kattasmall · kichiksad · xafa
Explanation

Adjectives tell us what something is like: beautiful, big, small, old, young, happy, sad. Sentences: “It’s beautiful.” “He’s old.” “She’s young.” An adjective goes before the noun: “It’s a small cat.” (not “cat small”).

Worked examples
It’s a beautiful frog. It’s green.
My dog is big, but my cat is small.
Class activity

“Opposites”: when the teacher says “big” children spread arms wide; for “small” they bring hands close; “happy” — smile; “sad” — make a sad face.
