Explanation

The “My sounds” page revises the sounds and animals from the book: r, l — rabbit, lion; g, h — gorilla, hippo; f, v — fox, vulture; j, y — jackal, yak; m, n — meerkat, newt; s, z — seal, zebra; c, k — camel, kangaroo; qu, x — queen bee, ox; w, wh — wolf, whale. Say each animal aloud with a clear first sound.

Worked examples
Rabbit, lion, gorilla, hippo — hello, hello, here we go!
Zebra, seal, camel, ox — in my animal talking box!
Class activity

“Animal circle”: children stand in a circle. One says an animal (zebra), the next finds another word with the same first sound (zero), and so on.
