Explanation

Farmers grow our food. In spring: turn soil, then plant seeds. In summer: water plants. In autumn: harvest plants. Question: “What does the farmer do?” — “He turns soil.” (with “he/she” we add -s: turns).

Worked examples
The farmer plants seeds. Then she waters the plants.
In autumn he harvests the plants.
Class activity

“Farmer’s year”: arrange 4 pictures in order and say “First he turns soil. Then he plants seeds. Then he waters plants. Last he harvests plants.”
