CLIL: what equipment do we need?

Explanation

Each sport needs equipment: tennis needs a racket and a ball, hockey needs a stick, baseball needs a bat and a ball. Question: “What equipment do we need?” Answer: “We need a racket and a ball.” We can sort sports in a table (Carroll diagram): which sports need a ball and which need a stick.

Worked examples
For tennis we need a racket and a ball.
For field hockey we need sticks.
Class activity

“Find the equipment”: children place sport pictures in a two-column table (“ball” / “no ball”). Then say “For basketball we need a ball.”
