Using punctuation marks correctly
Answers are for parents and teachers.
1
Add the punctuation: “Bobur dedi ertaga bozorga boramiz”.
Bobur dedi: «Ertaga bozorga boramiz». (or: «Ertaga bozorga boramiz», – dedi Bobur.)
2
Punctuate: “Yozda biz tog‘ga daryo bo‘yiga va o‘rmonga boramiz” and “Alisher Navoiy buyuk shoir”.
“Yozda biz tog‘ga, daryo bo‘yiga va o‘rmonga boramiz.”; “Alisher Navoiy – buyuk shoir.”
3
Make your own pair of sentences whose meaning changes with a comma and explain it.
For example: “Qizim, Madinaning dugonasi keldi” and “Qizim Madinaning dugonasi keldi”.
4
Abbreviate: va hokazo, va boshqalar, Birlashgan Millatlar Tashkiloti.
Va h.k., va b., BMT.
5
Write a text (4–5 sentences) with direct speech, an address, an introductory word and an enumeration after a generalising word; punctuate correctly.
Check: every punctuation mark must follow the rule.
