Explanation
A tangram is a puzzle made by cutting a square into 7 pieces: 5 triangles (2 large, 1 medium, 2 small), 1 square and 1 parallelogram. Hundreds of shapes — a cat, a house, a boat — can be made from them.
Worked examples
A box has 2 tangram sets mixed up: 7 + 7 = 14 pieces.
A booklet shows 80 shapes; Dilnoza has made 30: 80 − 30 = 50 left.
Class activity
Children cut out a paper tangram (from the teacher’s template) and use all 7 pieces to make a cat or a house.
