Explanation
A maze is a tangled place with many paths. Some paths are dead ends, and from there we go back. To find the way we follow a rule: for example, step only on letters in alphabet order. If we write the path we found with arrows, others can repeat it.
Worked examples
A mouse must reach the cheese: it steps on the letters K → L → M → N.
A child’s way home: → → ↓ ↓ → (from picture to picture).
Class activity
Build a simple maze in class with chairs and desks. One child closes their eyes, and a partner guides them to the exit with commands like “2 steps forward, turn right”.
