Explanation
To know an object well, we study it with all our senses: how it looks, smells, tastes, sounds and feels. Saying these features is describing the object. From a good description, others can guess what it is.
Worked examples
An apple: red, round, sweet, nice-smelling, smooth, crunchy when you bite it.
Yellow, roundish and sour — it is a lemon.
Class activity
“What am I thinking of?”: a child gives 3 features of an object without naming it; the others guess.
