Skin, bones and digestion
Answers are for parents and teachers.
1
Look at your skin on the back of your hand. Write two things that are alike and two that are different between your hand and a family member’s hand.
Answers differ, for example: alike—both have five fingers; different—size or skin colour.
2
List three ways you protect your skin on a very sunny day.
For example: hat, shade, light clothes, sunscreen put on by a grown-up.
3
Feel your ribs when you breathe in deeply. What happens to them? Tell someone at home what they protect.
They move outwards and upwards. Ribs protect the heart and lungs.
4
Draw your food’s journey in four boxes: mouth, food tube, stomach, intestines. Write one job under each box.
Mouth: chews. Food tube: pushes food down. Stomach: squeezes and mixes. Intestines: nutrients enter the blood.
5
