The verb
The word class that answers the questions “what to do?” and “what to become?” and denotes actions and states of persons or things is the verb: o‘qimoq (to read), yozmoq (to write), uxlamoq (to sleep), sarg‘aymoq (to turn yellow). The action or state is performed by some person or thing, called the doer. The indefinite form of a verb has the suffix -moq; the part without it is the verb stem: o‘qi-moq, yoz-moq. A verb has forms of tense, mood, person and number, voice and negation: o‘qidi (read), o‘qimadi (did not read).
“Mime”: a child acts out a verb (write, run, sleep) and the others say its question and indefinite form.
