A play with a message

Discover Term 2: Axis 4, Chapter 3
GoalAct a short play, use polite words, and say what message the play sends.
New words
play · a story that people actmessage · the idea that a story wants us to think about
Explanation

A play is a story that we act. Each character says words. A play can send a message. In a shop play the message is: be polite and say please and thank you. In another play, four friends see litter in the park. They say, “Let us help!” They make a poster, pick up the litter with gloves and put it in the bin. The message is: look after our park. To write a play, we choose the characters, the place and what each one says. Then we practise and act it.

Salma

Good morning! Two tomatoes, please.

Shopkeeper

Here you are.

Salma

Thank you!
