Pictures about me
Discover Term 2: Axis 4, Chapter 3
GoalTell about myself with a drawing, using colours and shapes.
New words
artist · a person who makes artshape · the outline of something, like a circle or a square
Explanation
Communicating through art: Art helps us tell about ourselves without words. We can draw six things about ourselves: our family, our favourite food, a game we like, a pet, our home, and something we do well. We choose colours that match what we want to say. Yellow and orange can feel warm and happy. Blue and green can feel calm. We use shapes too. A circle can be a sun. A square can be a window. A triangle can be a tent.
Worked examples
Farida paints a big yellow sun and a smile. For her, yellow feels warm and happy.
Karim paints a blue sea and a green hill. His picture feels calm.
Shapes in a drawing: a circle for the sun, a square for a window, a triangle for a tent.
Class activity
My six pictures: fold a paper into six boxes. In each box draw something about you: your family, your food, a game, a pet, your home, and something you do well. Use colours you like and at least three shapes. Show a friend and tell them about it.
