Explanation

We have five senses. We see with our eyes. We hear with our ears. We smell with our nose. We taste with our tongue. We touch with our skin, mostly our fingers. Our senses help us find out about the world. In the classroom we can look, listen, sniff and feel. We taste only food that a grown-up says is safe.

Class activity

Sense hunt: with a grown-up, walk round your classroom or room. Find one thing you can see, one you can hear, one you can smell and one you can touch. If a grown-up says it is safe, find one thing to taste. Draw a row for each sense and draw what you found. Say its name.
