The atmosphere in class (2)
Textbook pp. 37–39
GoalKnow how to fight bullying together and how to welcome a new pupil.
New words
unity, harmony · ahillikto apologise · kechirim so‘rashto support · qo‘llab-quvvatlashrule · qoida
Explanation
Bullying is not the problem of one child but of the whole class. Everyone together can stop it. If we see someone being mocked, we do not just watch: we say “This is not good, stop.” We go to the hurt child and support them. If we have upset someone ourselves, we apologise. If the problem does not stop, we tell the teacher. This is not “telling tales”; it is done for someone’s safety. When everyone follows rules of respect and harmony, bullying does not appear.
Worked examples
“The new pupil”. In the middle of the school year Feruza joined the class. For the first days she did not know anyone and sat alone at break. Sardor and Nigora agreed to take turns helping her. They showed her the library and the gym, invited her to a board game and explained where to find the homework. A week later Feruza began to feel at ease in the class.
Class activity
“Class agreement”: the class makes “Rules of our friendly class” (5 rules), everyone signs and puts them on the wall.
