Explanation

Tashkent is the capital of Uzbekistan and one of the largest cities of Central Asia. Samarkand is an ancient centre of trade and culture, famous for the Registan square. Bukhara is also an ancient city with many historic buildings. The Ichan Qala of Khiva is called an open-air museum. Shahrisabz is the city where Amir Temur was born. Andijan is the birthplace of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur. Namangan is famous for its flowers and holds a flower festival. When we visit historic places we treat them with care and do not litter.

Worked examples
“Meeting tourists”. On a street in Khiva Aziza saw foreign tourists lost, looking at a map. She was with her parents. With their permission Aziza politely explained the way slowly. The tourists said: “Thank you!” Aziza felt proud of her city.
Class activity
