Explanation

We may differ in colour, age, language or place of living, but we are all human beings. Every person has the right to learn, get medical help, have a family and choose the profession they like. These are called human rights. Equality is written in the Constitution and in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights: people are equal in dignity and rights. In a family there are rights and duties too: a child receives care and also helps as much as they can.

Worked examples
“Chores”. Bobur is the youngest child in the family. The grown-ups take care of him: they give him food, clothes and books and take him to his club. Being cared for and learning are Bobur’s rights. At the same time Bobur clears the table after meals and puts his toys away. These are his duties. Bobur knows that as he grows up his duties will grow too.
Class activity

“Rights and duties chart”: draw two columns on the board. Children stick cards (“study at school”, “do homework”, “get medical help”, “look after class property”) in the matching column.
