Explanation
Volunteers work without pay to help people. In our culture this is called a good deed. Volunteering can be big or small: planting saplings, bringing bread from the shop for an elderly neighbour, joining a neighbourhood work day, helping at an animal shelter. Before starting a good deed we should talk to a parent or teacher, so that it is safe. A big job done together goes faster and better.
Worked examples
“The neighbour grandmother”. Gulnora’s elderly neighbour was often unwell. Gulnora talked to her mother, then every Saturday helped sweep the neighbour’s yard and bring bread from the street shop. The old lady blessed her: “May you be lucky.” Gulnora went home happy.
Class activity
“Kindness map”: children draw a map of their neighbourhood and mark who could be helped and how (school yard, elderly, animals). They choose the 3 most important jobs.
