GoalUnderstand that setting a goal, patience and persistence bring results, while excuses get in the way.
New words
goal · maqsadplan · rejapatience · sabrexcuse · bahona
Explanation
Just dreaming about something is not enough. To reach a goal we define it clearly, make a plan and work a little every day. When it is hard, excuses appear: “I’ll do it later”, “I have no time today”. A person who beats them and carries on wins. Patience matters too: results may not come at once. It helps to divide a big goal into small steps. If we train our willpower, it grows stronger like a muscle.
Worked examples
“Beautiful handwriting”. Ozoda wanted to write beautifully. Every day after homework she practised for ten minutes. Sometimes the thought “I’m tired today” came, but she still wrote one page. Two months later the teacher showed her notebook to the class. Ozoda understood that small steady steps are strong.
Class activity
“Goal ladder”: children draw a ladder, write their goal at the top and small steps to it on the rungs.
