Explanation

When you hand something over: “Here you are!” The other child: “Thank you.” You: “You’re welcome.” The sound j is like “dj”: jacket, jeans, jump, jello. The sound y is like in “yes”: yellow, yes, yogurt, yak. Tongue twister: “A jackal jumps with jam. A yak yawns in yellow.”

Class activity

“Shop”: one child is the seller, others are customers. They “buy” clothes pictures: “A jacket, please.” — “Here you are!” — “Thank you.” — “You’re welcome.”
