Explanation

Where do vehicles travel? On land: car, bus, train, truck, tractor, motorcycle. On water: boat, ship. In the air: plane, helicopter. Question: “Where is the boat?” — “On water.”

Worked examples
The train is on land. The boat is on water. The plane is in the air.
A boat on a river: “It’s a boat. It’s on water.”
Class activity

“Three columns”: draw three columns on the board: on land, on water, in the air. Children stick vehicle pictures in the right column and say “The bus is on land.”
