Explanation

To say we like an activity we add -ing to the verb: “I like playing basketball.” “I like flying a kite.” “I like riding a horse.” Negative: “I don’t like playing tennis.” Rules: play — playing, fly — flying, ride — riding (drop the e), take — taking (drop the e), roller-skate — roller-skating.

Worked examples
I like playing basketball. I don’t like playing baseball.
Malika likes flying a kite. She likes riding a horse.
Class activity

“My favorite”: each child sticks pictures of 2 favorite activities on the board and says “I like playing …” The class raises hands: “Me too!”
