Explanation
Spring is also called ko‘klam, “emerald spring” and “the bride of the seasons”. The first flowers of spring are snowdrops and violets. Swallows are the messengers of spring: when they fly in, spring has arrived.
Worked examples
“Emerald spring”. In spring the fields turn bright green. That is why people call it “emerald spring”. At the foot of the mountain the snowdrop bloomed first. Then the sweet-smelling violets flowered. Swallows appeared in the sky.
Similar words: bahor = ko‘klam (spring); ko‘rkam = chiroyli (beautiful).
Class activity
Children draw a spring picture: a green field, snowdrops, swallows. Each child names what is in the picture in one sentence.
