Explanation
A library is the home of books. People also call it a “house of light”, because books give people the light of knowledge. Reading strengthens memory and builds vocabulary. In a library we speak quietly and return books on time.
Worked examples
“In the library”. Today our class went to the school library. There were many colourful books on the shelves. The librarian gave us membership cards. I chose a book about animals. In the library everyone sits quietly and reads.
Library rules: speak quietly, put books back in their place, return them on time.
Class activity
“Little library”: children put books brought from home on a classroom shelf. One child plays the librarian, lending and taking back books.
